From finding a room you like to moving in, there are 6 simple steps.
At Couverture, we generally require a viewing before signing a contract. This allows you to check the actual rooms, shared spaces, and facilities so you can apply with peace of mind.
For those who find it difficult to visit in person due to distance or other reasons, online viewings are also available.
If you are new to share houses and have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

How to Move In

First, let’s find the perfect share house and room for you. You can freely search for properties by area, conditions, or photos to find what you’re looking for.

Book a Viewing (Free)
Book a viewing through our contact form. Please let us know your preferred date and time.
*We ask everyone to visit the house before application to make sure we have mutual understanding about the details such as facility and rules of the house.
*Availavle hours for house viewing: from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
*Online option is available if you are applying from overseas or from afar.


House viewing (Online/Onsite)

We will guide you through your desired share house.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask our staff during the viewing.
(1) House Viewing
Visit the house and we will show you around.
Please take a close look at not just the private rooms, but also common areas like the living room and kitchen, facilities, and the overall atmosphere. In a share house, the common areas are an important part of your daily life.
Feel free to imagine what living here would be like as you check out the property.

(2) Online Viewing
If it is difficult for you to visit the house in person due to distance or other reasons, online viewings are also available.
We will guide you through the property via video call using photos, videos, and floor plans.

*If you are considering applying on the day of your viewing, please prepare a copy of your photo ID.
*The number of houses we can show you is limited.
*We ask everyone to visit the house before application to make sure we have mutual understanding about the details such as facility and rules of the house.
*Availavle hours for house viewing: from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
*Online option is available if you are applying from overseas or from afar.

Application (Passport,Residence card)

We will email you after the viewing to ask for the information needed for your application screening.
*A copy of your photo ID and an emergency contact are required.

★ Important Notice ★
We do not hold or reserve rooms without rent (no room holding/reservations prior to lease commencement).
If multiple applicants wish to book the same room, priority will be given to the applicant who first decides on a contract start date.
In the unlikely event that preferred contract dates also overlap, a drawing (lottery) may be held to determine the applicant.


Screening (1-2 business days)

We will contact you with the result.


Pay initial cost

Payment of the initial cost must be completed by the specified date or before the contract comes into force.
«Initial cost»
(1)Contract Fee:
A one-time fee payable in advance, it covers administrative fees, room cleaning, and other related costs.
Private Room or Shared Room: ¥40,000
Private Room with Bathroom: ¥50,000
(2)First Month’s Rent and Utilities:
Prorated based on the move-in date.
(3)Second Month’s Rent and Utilities:
Payable in advance if the move-in date is on or after the 20th of the month.
*Please note that some houses with private bathrooms require fire insurance.
*If there are significant stains, damage, or loss of equipment upon departure, a payment may be required.

★ Contract Period ★
Contracts have a fixed term ranging from a minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 6 months.
If you wish to continue living here after your contract expires, please complete the renewal procedures.
